In 2013, the Cochrane Activettes established an annual bursary for $3500 to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the club. This bursary is to assist youths pursuing post-secondary studies, specifically individuals who will be attending a technical school in the fall of 2020. It is open to applicants that have graduated from a high school in Cochrane. Applicants must be 22 years of age or younger as of June 1, 2020, have volunteered in some capacity within the Cochrane community, and are experiencing financial difficulty in order to further their education.
Although the club is very visible in the community by supporting local causes, the bursary is a less known focus of the club. We wish to make the community aware of our bursary and the application process.
In light of the Covid outbreak, the bursary application deadline has been extended to Nov. 6th, 2020. Bursary funds will be available for the January 2021 semester for those post-secondary technical students already enrolled in the 2020-2021 academic year, or those enrolled in a program with a January 2021 start date.
