One of the best ways to increase your physical activity is to become more self aware. It’s easy to spend a free day lounging around the house eating potato chips, but such habits will not help your body long-term. By using the health app that comes on your phone, you can track your steps and activity levels daily.

For someone looking for a time sensitive but effective workout, 7 minute workout apps are a great option. These apps offer a wide variety of exercises within a short time period. Depending on the app, you can choose the exercises you want to do, allowing you to target specific areas of your body. While each session is on a timeline, you can do the exercises at your own pace, and do multiple circuits if you want a longer workout.

Fitness Trackers

Fitness tracker apps make tracking your exercise easy and quick. These apps make your fitness level completely customizable, allowing you to choose the type of exercise and set your own goals. Many fitness apps also allow you to connect with friends, sharing progress, taunting and cheering each other on.

Paid Workout Plans

For those looking for a full featured, dedicated workout, the best option may be to purchase a subscription to an exercise program. Many programs include apps that contain all their workouts in one place. By using a paid app, you gain a guided exercise session daily. Depending on the app and program you choose, it may also include a diet plan.

2 Minute Workouts

For the extremely busy, or those looking to up their daily exercise activity by only a small amount, 2 minute workouts are a viable course of action. Surprisingly, even small amounts of exercise add up over time and can increase fitness.  Two minute workout apps provide guided short, hardcore cardio workouts that get your blood flowing. They are also a great option for those who are just beginning to introduce exercise into their lifestyle.

While your schedule may not fit a long workout, there are many options that allow you to complete a short workout or set and meet goals throughout the day. By achieving a certain amount of steps or completing a set workout routine, you can exercise your whole body, increasing fitness and overall health all with some help from your phone.
