EDMONTON — Charges are pending against an Edmonton school bus driver after she allegedly drove her bus over a curb, knocked over a street sign and stopped in the middle of the road.

Police say there were about 20 elementary school students on board when officers stopped the bus around 3:40 p.m. Tuesday in a southwest neighbourhood.

They say at one point, witnesses saw the bus weaving in and out of its lane.

The 39-year-old driver was arrested, but there is no immediate word on what may have led to her erratic behaviour.

None of the passengers were injured.

Another bus was brought to the scene to pick up the students.
