CALGARY — Firefighters had to battle for several hours to contain a stubborn blaze at a Calgary recycling centre.
Crews were called to ECCO Recycling and Energy Corporation around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Recycling material was ablaze near the main building when they arrived at the southeast location.
The fire was still burning as of late Tuesday evening and crews were expected to be at the scene well into Wednesday morning to prevent flare-ups.
Fire department battalion chief Bruce Barrs says at one point four trucks and fourteen personnel were at the scene.
There was no immediate word on the cause of the fire. (CTV Calgary, CFFR)
