Erol Yersel, owner of Erol’s Automotive, knows having your car repaired can sometimes be a stressful situation, which is why he and his staff strive to make it as painless as possible.

“It’s kind of like going to the dentist,” Yersel said. “It’s a service that nobody really wants to go to, but it’s a necessity.”

With that knowledge, Yersel said the focus for his business is quality work and top-notch customer service.

“Whatever we do, we stand behind our work,” said Yersel. “Our customer is No. 1.”

That commitment earned Erol’s Automotive the Cochrane Eagle’s Best of Cochrane Readers’ Choice Award for Best Place for Auto Repairs.

To achieve that standard, Yersel has spent more than a decade building his staff – his foreman has been with the company for 13 years and he has technicians nearing 10 years with the business. His staff also regularly update skills with NAPA training every two months to guarantee they have the most recent training on new technology and best practices.

Ensuring the procedures and checklists are in place to give his customers confidence that every job will be done well is also vital, considering his shop services between 350 and 400 vehicles every month.

“Our comeback ratio is less than one per cent,” added Yersel, who recognizes mistakes can happen, but at Erol’s they are not common.

The company’s success is evident in its recent expansion, which has helped manage rising volumes. To accommodate, Erol’s has added more bays – for a total of 10 – and has expanded its front office space and staff.

Yersel said he is honoured to have received the award.

“It’s humbling and it’s greatly appreciated that people took the time to vote,” he said. “We share it with our staff and feel good about it.”
