A warrant for second-degree murder has been issued for Gerald Russell FROMMELT, 37.

Two weeks after RCMP issued a Canada-wide warrant there has been no arrest of the man wanted in connection with the murder of Jamie Lynn Scheible.

The 23-year-old woman who went to Foothills Composite in high school was shot and killed in Calgary on April 7.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help Scheible’s parents who are caring for her young daughter and pay for her funeral. So far $30,252 has been raised through the GoFundMe for the Scheible family.

The family released a statement following her death.

“We are devastated by the loss of our sweet daughter Jamie,” the statement reads. “She was the most amazing, loving and kind person who was always helping others. She was beautiful, free-spirited, quirky and funny, and always brought a smile to our faces. She is beloved by many friends, and was the best mother, big sister, daughter and granddaughter. We adore her and are overwhelmed with grief.

"We are asking for our privacy to be respected at this time as we mourn the sudden and tragic loss of our amazing daughter.”

Scheible had previously been in a relationship with Gerald Russell Frommelt 37, who is wanted in her murder. Frommelt has not been located by police.

Parole documents obtained from the Parole Board of Canada show Frommelt has a long criminal record, including violence and involvement with criminal organizations.

He was sentenced to six-and-a-half years in jail in 2010 after being convicted of drug trafficking and participation in activities of a criminal organization.

In 2014, Frommelt was released from prison and ordered to report all relationships, whether friendly or intimate to his parole officer.

He had been charged with domestic violence offences in the past and parole documents noted ongoing concerns.

“File information indicates that you have experienced difficulties managing your anger and emotions with females,” a statutory pre-release document states. “Close monitoring of ongoing and future relationships with females is assessed and is necessary to manage your risk in the community and ensure public safety."

Statutory release documents from 2014 stated that Frommelt continued his violent behaviour while in prison and made little progress towards rehabilitation

“Your file indicates that you have involved yourself in a lifestyle that thrives on threatening and controlling others in order to have your needs met,” the document reads. “Your criminal history contains incidents that support this assertion and includes convictions for violence towards women and the use of weapons, all aimed at controlling and instilling fear in your victims.”

Frommelt was no longer on parole when Scheible was killed.

Frommelt is 6-foot-2, approximately 250 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Frommelt is asked to contact the Calgary Police non-emergency number at 403-266-1234. Tips can also be left anonymously through Crime Stoppers: TALK: 1-800-222-8477 TYPE: www.calgarycrimestoppers.org APP: P3 Tips
