COVID-19 cases continue to increase in the province with the Cochrane-Springbank area now sitting at a total of nine confirmed cases. Canmore has a total of eight confirmed cases while Banff sits at one. The total number of confirmed cases in Alberta is 661.

Of the confirmed cases within the province, the 35 to 44 age group in both males and females is the highest impacted. There have been three deaths and 41 hospitalizations. As of March 29, nearly 45,000 COVID-19 tests had been administered provincewide.

On March 25, more public health measures were implemented restricting the previous mass gathering amount of 50 to 15 and prohibiting Albertans from attending any non-essential retail businesses. Recreation and entertainment facilities are also prohibited as well as restaurants, cafes and bars, although delivery, take-out and drive-through services remain in operation.

Albertans are also restricted from attending any personal services such as manicures, make-up, body waxing, tattooing, and hairstyling. Wellness studios, clinics and non-emergency and non-critical health services are also banned which include dentistry, physiotherapy, massage and chiropractic services.

Fines can now be issued to Albertans for not complying to these public health orders.
