All Alberta K-12 and post-secondary schools are closed. All licensed child care facilities, out-of-school care programs and preschool programs are closed indefinitely. All long-term care and other continuing care facilities are advised to limit visitation to essential visitors only. Places of worship are no longer exempt from restrictions on mass gatherings.

Doctors in Cochrane had planned to host a public town hall on March 18 at 7 p.m. at the Alliance Church. The event has been cancelled and will be hosted online. Details will be available on www.cochranedocs.ca and on Facebook.

The 20th annual Yelnats Cup U18 hockey tournament has also been cancelled for the same reason. The organizing committee had this to say in a statement. 

"Unfortunately means that our Yelnats tournament is cancelled. Our committee will be meeting very soon to sort out the details. We will be continuing to post our grad bios on this page and any additional information. Thanks to everyone for your support and understanding."

The Yelnats tournament was set to take place at the end of the month at Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre, who will be shutting down several public services. Here is their statement on the matter. 

"Our facility planning with regards to the COVID-19 health concerns continues to evolve and change rapidly. The health and safety of our team, patrons and our community is a top priority.

Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre (SLSFSC) has closed after a series of announcements surrounding preventative measures enacted by the provincial government on Sunday.

The Cochrane Public Library will be closed until further notice.

Chinook Film Group will be moving their screening of Parasite from March 18 to April 15. All March tickets will be honoured at the April screening. 

Cochrane High School's drama department was going to present Matilda from March 11-14, but had to cancel due to Covid-19.

Rocky View County has closed County Hall for the next two weeks. All county-run programs, open houses and similar events are also cancelled throughout the municipality.

Take a Bow Theatre will be cancelling its newest spring production in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? They will look to tentatively reschedule it for October.
