The sun is shining, the weather is finally warm and the weekend is filled with many types of musical performances and local bands taking the Town of Cochrane by storm over the course of the weekend with their own variety of music to enjoy.

THE KEVIN K BAND - July 25th

The Kevin K Band will be playing at Half Hitch Brewing Company July 25 at 7 p.m. to prelude the weekend. Kevin has extensive live, touring and studio experience. Song writing has always been a main focus in genres that include hard rock, pop and country rock. Originally from Vancouver he moved to the Calgary area with his family and continued to write and record as a solo artist, band leader and session player. Kevin is an active member of the Calgary SongSmiths. He also can be seen performing all around the Calgary area in acoustic coffee house appearances while he also performs with the Kevin Knopf Band delivering high-energy, guitar-driven shows reminiscent of current acts such as The Cadillac Three and Blackberry Smoke.

OLIVER SWAIN AND DIEMM - July 25th

Join award winning roots artist Oliver Swain and harpist Diemm on tour this summer, which includes a stop at The Gentry Espresso and Wine Bar. Oliver Swain and Diemm have been performing together since 2017, the mystical combination of voices and instruments weave a stunning and innovative tapestry of dreams. Critically acclaimed, veteran folk-roots musician Oliver Swain will generate good heat with chamber-folk poet harpist Diemm, as they share the stage in a new collaborative way this July, using Diemm’s harp (36 strings) and Swain’s acoustic bass and banjo (9 strings). Tickets for the show are $15 and are available on Eventbrite.ca.

SILLY WRABBIT - July 26th and July 27th

On July 26 and 27, Silly Wrabbit will be making some noise at The Venue Bar and Grill. Silly Wrabbit has been making people bob their heads to our tunes and shake their heads to our jokes for over 20 years. In fact, in 2019 they are celebrating their 25th anniversary. From the 1970s boogie woogie and 1980s one hit wonders, to 1990s hip hop and big radio hits from the 2000s, they have a wide assortment of the greatest songs to party to, and then add a healthy dose of tongue-in-cheek humour and choreography to keep audiences entertained all night. Silly Wrabbit just spent five years as the house band at the Wildhorse Pub in the Deerfoot Inn & Casino, while having fun entertaining at various corporate functions and private parties, and are looking forward to touring around to visit local pubs and other cool venues for 2019.
