Free feasts kick off today

Here are the listings of Stampede breakfasts around Cochrane.
Sunset Ridge Pancake Breakfast YM 3

Over the next nine days, Cochranites can literally fill up on free grub starting today as the community gets into the Stampede spirit with a host of event-themed feeds.

This morning (July 3) kick off the feasting with the businesses at Griffin Plaza on Second Avenue as they host their customer appreciation Stampede barbecue. Lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

If you're hankering for pancakes, Corner Co-working is hosting the first local Stampede Breakfast on July 5 at 225 Railway Street East. The breakfast comes complete with pancakes and sausage. Attendees can also try some axe throwing with Chuck Steel while bouncing to the beat of Wild Bill DJ Services (we don't recommend doing both at the same time). Bring your own plate/cutlery or mug and be entered into prize draws that occur every 30 minutes.

On July 6, the Trading Post in Sunset Ridge is serving up its free breakfast starting at 9 a.m. until noon. This family-fun affair features face painting, live music and pony rides.

If you miss the Trading Post pony rides there is another chance on July 7 as the community of Fireside puts together a pancake feast beginning at 9 a.m. on the playing fields on Fireside Parkway. There will also be a petting zoo, obstacle course, face painting and prizes.

On July 8, Grand Central businesses will dish out its free pancake and sausage breakfast at 201 Grand Boulevard from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Go for the food and stay for the music and games.

CIR Realty at 130 Fifth Ave. will feed the masses pancakes from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on July 10.

July 11 is a big day as the Boys and Girls Club of Cochrane and Area host its annual pancake breakfast. Aside from the delicious food, attendees will have the chance to dunk politicians and the editor of this paper in the dunk tank. Cochrane Eagle editor Chris Puglia and Coun. Patrick Wilson have a friendly bet to see who can raise the most money at the event. The loser gets a public face pieing. Really, regardless who you like the most or least in this competition, you can't lose.

Bow Valley Baptist Church will host its pancake breakfast in its parking lot at 54 West Arsby Road on July 14 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

If we have missed anyone let us know and we will add them to the list.

Correction: Cochrane Nissan is not having a pancake breakfast this weekend on Saturday. The dealership is holding an anniversary celebration on July 19, 20 and 21. Check out http://ow.ly/cxDt50uXWAk for complete details. We apologize for the confusion.
