The Chinook Film Group is back in action this January with a recent award winning film, The Theory of Everything.
The film is about famed theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking and his relationship with ex-wife Jane Wilde Hawking. It is adapted from the memoir Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen by Jane Wilde Hawking.
Murray Mitchell, the programmer of the film group, said just seeing the preview of the movie really affected him.
“As it got closer and closer to me picking this film for January, there was just more and more buzz,” he said.
The film was nominated for four Golden Globe Awards this year and picked up two wins – one for best actor for Eddie Redmayne’s portrayal of Stephen Hawking and another for best original score.
The film will be shown at the Cochrane Movie House Wednesday, Jan. 21 at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at Java Jamboree and Tea & Other Things for $10 each.
