Halloween events happening around Cochrane

Halloween is around the corner and local establishments are preparing for an evening of fun for the local people of Cochrane.

Halloween is around the corner and local establishments are preparing for the evening of fun for the local people of Cochrane to get dressed up in their best Halloween garb and enjoy their evening. 

BARS AND PUB FUN

The Venue will be hosting a two-night Clown-A-Round event which will go on both Oct. 31 and Nov 1. The event will allow people to dress up in costumes for the couples and singles costume contest with great prizes while the bar will also feature Creepy Cocktails and Diabolical Drink specials. Call 587-362-4283 to reserve your table. Original Joe's will be hosting happy hour specials from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. which includes $5 Joe's draught, house wine and highballs. They will also have a few snacks for happy hour prices during that time as well. The Texas Gate will have their Three Days of Tricks and Treats event. On Oct. 31, there will be free line dance lessons from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. as well as a live DJ. from 9 p.m. to close on Nov. 1 and 2. Prizes for best costumes every night as well as no cover charge. For Halloween, Mr. Mike's will have live music from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. and during the intermission from 8:50 p.m. to 9:10 p.m. they'll be hosting a costume contest to win a $50 Mr. Mike's gift card. For their specials, they'll have $5 Happiest Hour menu with 23 items all priced at $5 from 2-5 p.m. as well as 8 p.m. to close as well as Lodge Night specials. 

FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

The fifth annual Cochrane Pumpkin Lantern Festival will take place at the Cochrane Ranche from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Oct. 25. Bring a pumpkin, walk the trail and enjoy the spooky-lit evening. The annual festivities draw thousands of attendees each year with an impressive display of pumpkins. Last year, almost 300 pumpkins light the pathway. You may also consider entering your pumpkin in the contest. There are prizes in all categories: 12 years and under, 13-17 years, 18 and over, Business and Group. There are great door prizes as well! Come with your friends, family and neighbours to enjoy a magical evening of student musical performances, yummy s’mores, hot drinks, and a walk along the Pumpkin Trail. Grilled, WannaWafel and SpudMobeel Food Trucks will be onsite to satisfy your food cravings.

On Oct. 26, a Halloween fundraiser called MasquerAID 2019 - Night at the Opera House will be taking place from 7 p.m. until 11:30 that evening. Go out and enjoy an evening of fun and entertainment while supporting the Big Hill Haven Women’s Shelter. There will also be live music by the Lowtide band as well as prizes for best costume. Advance tickets are now available for $30 a person with special rates for groups of eight or larger. All donations and proceeds will be donated to the Big Hill Haven Women's Shelter.
