Rocky Mountain Symphony Orchestra (RMSO) Playing with Fire will be bringing the tunes to the Cochrane RancheHouse on June 7.

The Rocky Mountain Symphony Orchestra seeks to grow and serve communities of Orchestral Music lovers in small towns in the Shadows of the Rockies by delivering engaging Orchestral experiences in unique ways and places. The Rocky Mountain Symphony Orchestra was born June 2016.  By March 2017, the Orchestra received its Alberta Non-Profit registration as the Rocky Mountain Symphony Society.  In January 2019, the Rocky Mountain Symphony Society was granted Charitable Status.

The orchestra is led by music director Carlos Foggin, a Calgary-based organist & pianist who was named by the Calgary Herald as the recipient of the 2019 Compelling Calgarian award for his tireless work in community building, education, and outreach.

A Fellow of the Royal Canadian College of Organists, and a celebrated recitalist & improviser, Mr. Foggin has performed around the globe on some of the world’s greatest organs. Notable European solo performances venues include concert halls and Cathedrals including Notre Dame de Paris, St. Sulpice, the Kölner Dom, and Westminster Abbey.

In addition to his work as a soloist, Carlos has been highly praised for a nuanced, fluid approach to collaboration gleaned from years of innovative partnership and performance. Equally comfortable with both singers and instrumentalists, his repertoire is expansive and ever-growing. His students have successfully auditioned into opera companies, Canadian and U.S. orchestras, as well as university and conservatory music programs.

The RMSO's 45 musicians hail from many walks of life. Some are professional musicians, others are high school band teachers, retired professors, lawyers, doctors, mechanics, and farmers. What unites them is their high-level of playing, and a desire to take music outside the big city and into smaller towns and unique venues.

Tickets are on sale on www.showpass.com right up until showtime at 7:30. Adult tickets are $35 while you can get two adult tickets through the date night deal for $62.90.
