Re: Big Hill West Light Horse 4-H Club public speaking competition

On Feb. 8, the Big Hill West Light Horse 4-H Club held its annual Communications Day. This is a day when club members speak and present on a topic of their choice. There were 22 members who participated in this exciting public speaking competition, all with fantastic speeches and presentations!

This year’s first and second place winners were: Faith Stewart (1st place senior presentation), Brooke Whitmarsh (1st place intermediate presentation), Kaylee Schmitke and Kate Keresztesi (2nd place intermediate presentation), Jade Whitmarsh (1st place junior presentation), Lara and Liesl Stewart (2nd place junior presentation), Rebecca Dal Collo (1st place junior speech) and Jena Michaud (2nd place junior speech).

This annual event is filled with fun, learning and, of course, public speaking, and there is more to come! On March 1, Big Hill West Light Horse 4-H Club hosted the next level of competition, the southwest area competition of Rocky View County district at Weedon Hall, north of Cochrane.

Molly Burwash and Kyla Lightfoot, 4-H junior members
