Thank you Mayor Truper McBride.
Thank you for fulfilling your responsibility as mayor for our great community of Cochrane. Also, thank you to your team who facilitated your mission and that of the Cochrane community.
As mayor, you have exemplified the qualities of a great leader who can inspire a vision, enable others to act, lead by example and encourage the heart.
Your leadership ability, along side with the understanding of what it takes to create a vibrant community, has made a difference to the hearts and minds of many.
From my vantage point, an advocate for the rise of the creative class (thanks to the author Richard Florida) you are a mayor who simply gets it. Understanding that talent, tolerance and technologies are the pillars for a vibrant community, you have opened the door for more opportunities for the next generation.
Also through your support of the community-driven Cochrane Sustainability Plan, Cochrane still remains my choice for home knowing that smart growth is encouraged.
I love Cochrane, in spite of its growth, because Cochrane is providing me with increased creative opportunities, inspiration, sense of community, and is still a lovely place to live.
During your time in office you have kept my mind at ease knowing that mindful and thoughtful decisions are being made for a promising future for all who have chosen Cochrane as their home.
I wish you great success in your future.
