Rest in peace dear Phineas, and know you were loved

Who knows maybe you could've helped if something could have been done to save him.

To the person who ran over my puppy on Griffin Road at 10 a.m. Sunday morning (Feb. 2) and kept on driving, I just want you to know he died.

He ended up with a shattered pelvis, spinal damage and organ displacement. As I rushed him to the vet in Calgary, clinging to some hope he could be saved, he just stared at me like he had done something wrong. This broke my heart.

He wasn't a cardboard box or a piece of trash in the street, he was my little eight year old old Yorkie Phineas who got away from me. I am not laying blame saying you were in the wrong. You were probably just driving. The next time you run a dog over, and you know it was a dog, at least summon the courage to stop.

Who knows maybe you could've helped if something could have been done to save him.
