Dear editor:
Having grown up in Calgary at a time when it was starkly comparable to where Cochrane is today, I am dismayed at the lack of support by the Alberta provincial government in facilitating the increasing volume of students.
As a Muslim growing up in Calgary, I was taught that the acquisition of knowledge is a foremost tenet, which must be made liberally available to each and every individual.
The provincial government reserves a hefty duty to ensure that whatever the educational needs of a city may be, they must be met.
Today, Cochrane may seem small compared to some other cities, but it is through investing in the future of Cochrane that the future leaders of the global village can be secured.
