Time to allow next generation's ideas to thrive, reader believes

Dear Editor:

This town has a history of residents voicing any and all concerns and this ensures a good finished project.

I remember the concerns that were brought up regarding the quality of Jumping Pound Creek when the Bow Meadows subdivision was proposed. Through the efforts of local residents the developer built a subdivision that left the creek intact and now is a great local natural area.

When Sunterra was proposed some Cochrane Heights residents were concerned with a lack of water in the mains and created a large ruckus.

Is anyone bothered by it now?

Any good decision making process involves bringing up concerns.

But really; flying propellers?

I'm sure 20 years after the Cardston failure we would have better turbines and checks and balances.

If not we could always pass a bylaw requiring anyone living within a one-kilometre radius to wear a helmet.

And then have the firefighters patrol the area to ensure they are earning their money.

So come on people.

It appears every last piece of ammunition has now been presented.

Perhaps it's time to let the next generation step up to the plate with new ideas and for us to encourage creativity and initiative.
