Western democratic countries are beginning to suffer a serious problem brought on solely by their selfish citizens.
Lately we hear cries of victimization or discrimination that in turn apparently create more victims. Cries of discrimination are even heard here in Cochrane. In a recent letter, Ms. Lin Gackle insisted that “single people face discrimination." How ludicrous!
She suggested it was unfair that married or common-law couples should be permitted to split incomes. Being single is an individual’s choice that shouldn’t require the country’s taxpayers to “anti-up!" She continues to insist that our government should develop some taxpayer-funded program based on cost of living standards to subsidize single people. These demands are beyond obscene!
Recently, the Quebec Council on Tobacco and Health won a class action suit against the tobacco companies that were ordered to make payments of over $15 billion to smokers who fell ill, were addicted or “who continue to smoke?” The very essence of selfish stupidity! While we should under no circumstances support big tobacco, no thinking person can sympathize with the smokers. They had and still have a choice.
Considering that Canada’s health care costs are excessive and unsustainable, they will become even higher when the health effects of Trudeau’s pot parties are thrown into the mix; Tobacco bad, marijuana good? (Another double standard only in Canada)! Socialist France already spends 67 per cent of its GDP on Social programs and recently implemented a green tax to reduce carbon emissions, but the anarchist Yellow Vests have been rampaging throughout the country burning cars, damaging buildings and causing havoc claiming to be the “victims” of the government’s attempt to improve the environment and encourage French citizens to become more self reliant. Recent weekend damage in Paris alone will cost approximately $3.4 million.
It is ironic that these selfish people demand climate change improvement yet refuse to do their part, they can’t have it both ways. Discrimination is also being used as a reason to challenge every perceived slight or criticism and these are used as excuses to demand more or additional social or financial compensation from governments. Recently, a BBC reporter was interviewing a British mother who couldn’t control the behaviour of her teenager. She actually said to the reporter; “how can a parent properly engage with young people when there is not sufficient, sustainable funding?” Whatever happened to parental responsibility? These examples of crying discrimination or playing the victim card are further evidence that Western democratic countries must never submit to socialist demands.
Fifty years ago, Venezuela was twice as wealthy as China, ranked fourth in world economic strength, the country’s currency ranked second only to the American dollar and it had an excellent health care program. In just 10 years since electing a socialist president, the country has been destroyed by this obscene ideology. Free market economics and international trade supported by the principles of self reliance and personal responsibility by individuals must be fully re-established before Western countries become "Venezuelas"’
