Dear editor,
My son and his fiancé moved to Cochrane about six months ago and as soon as my first visit I was charmed by your town.
On subsequent trips I continued to be impressed with the many unique small stores and businesses, and the obvious attempt to maintain a theme in the construction style of your downtown core.
However, on a recent visit I was shocked to see that your town administration has given the go ahead for a Wal-Mart to come to town. For heaven’s sake, why?
Do you not realize what this will do to the small businesses in your community? Perhaps not next year, but for sure in five, ten and 15 years?
I think that you have made a huge mistake, my thoughts anyway.
