As we wanted to duplicate some family photo albums I went to Winters Photographics, only to discover it was closing and leaving the business. I am sorry to see them go.
They have been in Cochrane for 29 years and gave excellent service, first on the corner of Main Street and 5th Avenue and later in the shopping centre on 5th Avenue. They started out with the traditional business of developing films and printing pictures. Then the digital camera came along and they sold the cameras and printed the resulting pictures.
Now cameras are just one of the many applications on a smartphone and pictures reside somewhere on the cloud. Winters Photographics is just the latest victim of the creative destruction of technology.
I want to thank them for the good service they have given over all those years. I wish Jennifer Winters and the other members of the family involved the very best.
