Wolf in sheep's clothing

I hope many of our young Albertans read this letter.

I hope many of our young Albertans read this letter. I'm 75 years old and have lived the horrors of watching Ralph Klein deliberately destroy everything our hero Peter Lougheed created for us, to try to force Albertans into more and more privatization.

In 2002, a group of lawyers led by Marilyn Burns created the Wildrose Party and were on the right path. Their goal was to put a stop to what Klein was doing to us. They asked me to run as their leader in the 2004 election. I refused knowing my wife was retiring in two years and we had planned to do some travelling.

Then the Reformers got control of the Wildrose Party under Danielle Smith, they became a party of wanting to bring back Ralph Klein's destructive Reform policies. Their candidates were telling us that they didn't believe in gay marriage, or global warming , and fully supported Smith's plans for the privatization of our health care and education systems. Looking after their own well-being, like Klein did, with massive severance packages, and by making their rich friends a lot richer by slashing royalties and tax breaks for their friends' benefit was what they were planning. As we all know, Klein put this province in financial ruin and created a massive infrastructure deficit, as premier Ed Stelmach pointed out. Now, while Notley tries to clear up this infrastructure deficit she has to endure sarcastic remarks hurled at her by Kenney and his ignorant supporters.

So here we are once again fighting these Reformers that are nothing like the Conservatives we proudly supported under Lougheed and Getty, and once again they are promising to make things a lot worse for the people, while many of our fellow seniors are believing every lie Jason Kenney feeds them. Apparently they aren't smart enough to understand what his policies are going to do to them.

We know if the UCP are elected not only will our young people find themselves paying out thousands of dollars more per year that isn't necessary while they watch their oil royalties and tax breaks benefit Kenney's rich friends, just like they did under Klein.

We are like Klein's daughter, Angie. We are going to help Notley get re-elected because she has busted her butt to try to fix the mess Klein, Stelmach and Redford created for us and deserves another term. To us, Kenney isn't an option and he shouldn't be for you.
