In celebration of their 35th anniversary, the Cochrane Activettes will be celebrating in a fitting way — amongst the community.

On Sept. 28, following the Cochrane Outhouse Races, the organization invites the community to visit the Activettes at their table for a celebratory chat. The society will be set up on the sidewalk, to judge the races.

The main focus for the Activettes is the operation of the Cochrane Food Bank and the Christmas Hamper Campaign. The society also owns and runs Centre Avenue’s The Clothesline — a used clothing store.

The Cochrane Activettes are on the receiving end of the Cochrane Outhouse Races. With a monetary donation set as the entry fee for the yearly potty pushing event and cash being collected throughout the event, proceeds will ultimately help the Activettes with their upcoming Christmas food hamper initiative.

Last year, the event raised about $6,000 for the society.
