EDMONTON — Alberta is reporting a jump in COVID-19 cases.

The province's chief medical health officer, Dr. Deena Hinshaw, says the latest daily count has 120 new cases.

It's the first time there has been more than 100 cases in a day since May 2.

That brings the total number of cases in the province to 9,114.

Hinshaw also says there have been two new deaths from the illness, bringing the total fatalities in the province to 165.

She says she is concerned about the recent numbers and it's important for people to remember that the pandemic is not over.
