The Foothills Art Club will be hosting its annual Art Show and Sale this weekend at the Cochrane Curling Club.

The free one-day event will be held April 13 from 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The show will feature a smattering of different art mediums, including oil and acrylic paintings, and mixed media art — all created by members of the Foothills Art Club.

“It’s a great opportunity to come and support local artists and be supportive of the community,” said show coordinator and club member Laura Procunier.

The show will display the wares of — among others — Procunier, Jeff MacKenzie and Beryl Moe. In addition, show attendees will be granted the opportunity to win an original piece of art.

Meeting each Wednesday from September to May at the St. Andrews United Church of Cochrane, the club plays a role in the lives of about 50 local artists, said Procunier. New members are more than welcome to drop by.

“Our club gatherings are a celebration of art — it’s a joy for us all to come together and do something we all love,” she said.
