Members of Beaupre Artists’ Guild will have about 100 pieces of art on display at their upcoming Show and Sale, set to run June 22-23 at Beaupre Community Hall.
For the third year running, a selection of art from the group’s 40 members will be featured, said Mary Lou Brooks, a member of the guild.
“We started out as just a small group and we’ve grown so much,” said Brooks, who paints landscapes with watercolours and acrylics. “The last few years, we’ve had a lot of people coming through the show and a lot of people commenting on the paintings.”
The show and sale will feature a variety of painting mediums — oil, watercolour and acrylic — along with some woodworking and mixed media arts.
“The members, we paint from our hearts, “ remarked Brooks. “At the sale, most of the artists will be there, so (attendees) can have the chance to chat and ask questions about the different pieces of art.”
The group consists of amateur artists, although Brooks said many of the members are nearing the threshold of professionalism.
With such varied talent, the guild is currently not accepting new members. Brooks said there is a waitlist to join.
The Beaupre Artists’ Guild Show and Sale gets underway June 22 and 23, running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission and parking are free.
