Bow RiversEdge Campground Society (BRECS) gives back at Lions event centre

A handful of cheques were given to local organizations around Cochrane on Wednesday (Oct 2).

Bow RiversEdge Campground Society (BRECS) and its joint partnership with the Cochrane Lions Club and Rotary Club of Cochrane are well known around the community for their continuous support of local organizations.

The Capital Re-Investment Partnership helps non-profit organizations develop and support projects that focus on benefiting youth, culture and arts, sport and recreation, the environment and general community services.

A total of $71,400 was dispersed in grant beneficiaries to the community and special programs Wednesday night.

Thie 2019 grant beneficiaries are:

  • Rotary Club of Cochrane (held for Camp Jubilee)
  • Cochrane Rotary and Youth Talent Festival
  • Cochrane and Area Victim Services
  • Glenbow Ranch Park Foundation
  • It Take a Village Education Society
  • Junior Achievement Southern Alberta
  • Cochrane and Archival Preservation Society (CHAPS)
  • Cochrane Public Library
  • Friends of Spirit Winds Ranch Society
  • Boys and Girls Club of Cochrane and Area
  • Cochrane Immigrant Services Society
  • Hope Mission
  • Cochrane Bethany Family Council
  • Cochrane Pregnancy Care Centre
  • Cochrane and Area Early Childhood Development Coalition
  • Helping Hands Society of Cochrane and Area

The 2019 special program grant beneficiaries were:

  • Cochrane Lions Club Rodeo
  • Stockmen's Memorial Foundation
  • Spray Lakes Recreational Park Society
  • Past President Director Award

Since 2016, BRECS has handed out $998,960 toward making projects possible in the Cochrane community.
