"In addition, each family received gift cards for fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, and gas. All of the recipients are from our four feeder schools (Glenbow Elementary, Mitford Middle, RancheView and Fireside) and are future Bobcats. Bobcats take care of their own."

The students and staff at Bow Valley High School were in the Christmas spirit with their annual Helping Hampers initiative on Dec. 14.

"We delivered a mountain of food and gifts to six families. There were approximately three months' worth of perishable food items and cleaning supplies," said Bow Valley Outdoor Education teacher Scott Thompson in an email to the Eagle.

"In addition, each family received gift cards for fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, and gas. All of the recipients are from our four feeder schools (Glenbow Elementary, Mitford Middle, RancheView and Fireside) and are future Bobcats. Bobcats take care of their own."

The remainder of the donations went to the Cochrane Activettes food bank.

The staff and students approximately raised more than 860 kilograms of food, $4,300 in gift cards, 50 people were fed which included 10 boxes to the Cochrane Activettes, five boxes to Home Treasures and three bags of clothes to the Clothesline.
