Get hypnotized Cochrane.

The Boys and Girls Club of Cochrane and Area are hosting a fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 5 p.m. The event will feature dinner, drinks and comedic hypnotist JayDee at the Venue Bar and Grill.

JayDee has toured internationally and headlined in Las Vegas and other cities across Canada and the U.S. The interactive event will feature a silent auction with items and services donated from local businesses for attendees to bid on. A signed Calgary Flames jersey, hand-constructed and locally made rocking chairs and vacation lodging are some of the prizes.

“It’s super exciting to have a hypnotist come headline our event,” said Jill Bilodeau, the organization’s executive director.

“It’s such an interactive kind of entertainment and I think people will love it.”

After dinner and entertainment guests are welcome to stay and listen to local band Envy.

All proceeds from the evening will benefit the organization’s local programs for the following year and will go toward funding the youth space, the CLUB and out-of-school/in-school programming.

Last year’s successful fundraiser featured an improvisation group and raised about $6,500. This year the organization is hoping to bring in more than $8,000 to supplement the expansion of their Out of School Care Program this fall.

For more than 25 years the Boys and Girls Club of Cochrane and Area has provided services for youth and families throughout the town and surrounding area. During critical out-of-school hours, the non-profit organization offers a safe space where children and youth can explore their interests, develop their strengths, and realize positive outcomes in self-expression, academics, healthy living, physical activity, mental health and more
