Calgary Police Service is informing the public to be cautious as a high-risk offender was released Aug. 20.

Adrian Lee Ballantyne, 32, served a four-and-a-half-year sentence for sexual interference with a child, failure to comply with a probation order and additional time for breach of a court order. The sexual interference happened in Edmonton, on a female child who Ballantyne did not know. The majority of Ballantyne's crimes have been committed in Alberta with previous convictions including assault, robbery, uttering threats, indecent exposure to a person under 16 years of age, and property offences.

Ballantyne is said to be 6'0" tall, 210 pounds with a heavy build and black hair and brown eyes. He has an uneven complexion and multiple tattoos including a teardrop under his left eye and writing on his neck.

With the interest of public safety in mind, The Calgary Police service is releasing this information to be used as an advisory to allow the public to take precautionary measures. The police emphasized against people taking vigilante action toward Ballantyne.

Ballantyne will be watched closely by the Calgary Police Service High-Risk Offender Program.
