Cochrane Eagle scores seven awards

The Cochrane Eagle had another successful awards circuit following both the Alberta Weekly Newspaper Association Awards (AWNA) and News Media Canada's Canadian Community Newspaper Awards (CCNA).

The Cochrane Eagle had another successful awards circuit following both the Alberta Weekly Newspaper Association Awards (AWNA) and News Media Canada's Canadian Community Newspaper Awards (CCNA).

Between both organizations, the Eagle was honoured with seven awards.

AWNA Awards:

Class E (6,500 to 12,499 circulation)

1st: Best Overall news

1st: Best Editorial Page

2nd: Best Front Page

2nd: Best Sports Section

2nd: Best Feature Photo (by Yasmin Mayne)

CCNA Awards:

Open Circulation

1st: Excellence in Rural Reporting (Amy Tucker for Arctic experience helps Cochrane doctor bring better care to Indigenous people) (Note: web headline is different than print headline)

6,500 to 12,499 circulation

3rd: Best All-around Newspaper
