COCHRANE IN BRIEF, April 2

Cochrane in Brief

FUNDRAISER TO BENEFIT LOCAL CHARITIES

The Corner Coworking & Co-warehousing, Half Hitch, and Amped2Play are joining forces to collect bottles with the proceeds going to a group of local charities. Local residents can drop off their bottles to a trailer located at the Bottle Depot at 205 Railway St. E. Volunteers have signed up to assist at 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday until Saturday, Apr. 25.

COMMUNITY BEAR HUNT

We're going on a bear hunt, we're going to catch a big one! Neighbourhoods around Cochrane have certainly been creative in finding ways to keep families entertained during COVID-19. The newest endeavour, a bear hunt, inspired by the famous Michael Rosen Childrens book. Those who are interested in participating are encouraged to put teddy bears in their windows so families are able to go on a bear hunt by either foot or vehicle. Here lies another example of how the community and families are coming together through this pandemic.

HUB TO YOU

During this difficult time, many local businesses remain open with their doors shut. The Hub Cafe and Wine, located in Sunset Ridge, is doing its part to make it easier for Cochranites interested in indulging in a naughty little treat. They are offering free delivery of any coffee, treats or paninis right to your door to curb any cravings you may be having. Pamper yourself to a coffee from the outside world again and have no worries, just bliss all while staying home. For more information contact 403-981-0020 or [email protected].
