COCHRANE IN BRIEF, April 9

Cochrane in Brief

RAINBOW BRIGHT

The Bethany Care Society has launched a project to help brighten residents' days. Bethany Cochrane recreation therapist Taryn Wallace has created a rainbow-themed project and is calling on the community to share their creations. Community members are encouraged to draw, paint or colour to create rainbow messages of kindness to share with residents. Creations can be dropped off in box located at the front door of the Bethany Care Society, located at 1000, 32 Quigley Drive, and the images will be hung around the centre for residents to enjoy.

DELIVERY BREW

With the long weekend in sight and temperatures improving, Cochranites may want to enjoy a beer or two on their deck. The Beer Den will help nurse those isolation blues by getting drinks to residents with their delivery service. Orders over $40 are subject to free delivery and will be dropped off with social distancing in mind. A full list of what craft beer is pouring is available at www.thebeerden.ca. You can also check out their Instagram page @beerdencochrane or Facebook page, The Beer Den for more information on wine and wobbly pop selections.

COCHRANE STRONG

The Town of Cochrane has launched a new initiative to ensure all community members are united in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. The town has created the new campaign "Cochrane Together" to encourage neighbours and small businesses to support each other during this challenging time. The campaign is designed to inspire Cochranites to know the facts about the virus, perform acts of caring for each other and support the community during the COVID-19 virus public health emergency. Residents can share how they are supporting each other on social media using the hashtag #CochraneTogether.
