SLSFSC Scholarships

Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre has two $1,500 scholarships to give away to first-year post-secondary students as a part of the Clearwater Endowment Fund and the Spray Lake Sawmills Recreation Park Society Scholarship Society. To be eligible, students must be graduating from either a Cochrane or Springbank high school. Students must be entering their first year of post-secondary education. Minister of Jobs to speak at Chamber webinar

The Cochrane and District Chamber of Commerce is hosting a free webinar to discuss Alberta’s economic recovery on Wednesday (June 2) at 12 p.m. The keynote speaker for the event is Minister of Jobs, Economy and Innovation, Doug Schweitzer. Schweitzer will be discussing the current situation in the province and our path forward and the government seeks to get Alberta back on track toward economic recovery. CAHS $5,000 giveaway

The Cochrane and Area Humane Society is offering a chance to win $5,000 and an opportunity to help out the Shelter at the same time via an online raffle. Tickets for the raffle are one for $10, four for $20, 20 for $50 or 100 tickets for $100. The Cochrane and Area Humane Society sees roughly 2,000 animals come through its doors each year, often with broken bones, eye injuries, skin diseases and other infectious and contagious diseases. The shelter often provides long-term care and treatment for these animals. By purchasing a ticket, you enable the Cochrane and Area Humane Society to continue its important work while also getting a chance to win some cold, hard cash.
