Cochrane WinterFest on horizon

Looking ahead in the months to come, the Cochrane and Area Events Society (CAES) are already setting the wheels in motion for the third annual ATCO Gas Cochrane WinterFest.

The now two-day family event will take place at Cochrane Lions Rodeo Park Jan. 25-26 and CAES director, Brooks Tower is looking forward to a jam-packed affair with the addition of a light and sound show on the Friday evening.

“We’ll try to create a Friday night vibe where people can walk around and see everything lit up,” said Tower; the light and sound show will take place Jan. 25, 6-9 p.m.

One way Cochrane businesses can get in the spirit of things is to take part in the ‘adopt-a-snowman’ event.

“We have 20 blank snowmen coming out of hibernation, courtesy of Marlise Rockwell (Soul Studio),” explained Tower. “We’re just starting to look for good homes for these guys. Like last year, they will be $100 each and we look forward to seeing how Cochrane businesses dress them up again.”

Families can look forward to a host of kids games and activities; to volunteer or learn more, contact Brooks Tower at 403-542-5538.
