The Cochrane Public Library was among the successful community grant recipients this year, which will help fund the fourth annual Medieval Day on July 27.

Council stayed just under their $45,000 budget for community grants, approving applications that met the criteria officially at Monday night council.

Deadline to apply to the program was May 1, with a total community request of $86,500. Out of this amount, $66,832.50 in applications met the criteria but council opted to align with administration's recommendations to keep within the approved 2019 budget for the program – acknowledging that the grant program will be changing next year to help some groups achieve more sustainable funding and provide opportunities for new groups to apply.

Council conceded that they are looking forward to seeing changes to the program for 2020.
