24-year-old Sarah Rabik's mother has pleaded not guilty in her daughter's death.

A Calgary mother charged with second-degree murder is in a Calgary courtroom today for a four-day preliminary inquiry.

The body of 24-year-old Sarah Rabik was discovered along Highway 8 southeast of Cochrane on Feb. 26, 2021. Her mother, 60-year-old Debora Rabik, was charged with second-degree murder and causing an indignity to a body in late June.

The preliminary inquiry is subject to a publication ban and the presiding judge will determine if there is enough evidence for the charges to go to trial. Only the outcome of the preliminary inquiry can be reported.

The case will continue this week.
