A crow caused a 45-minute power outage to homes in Cochrane and Rocky View this morning.
At approximately 8:15 a.m. the bird got into a recloser, which FortisAlberta communications manager Alana Antonelli described as similiar to circuit breaker in a home. The resulting fault cut power to 2,400 customers in the county, Heritage and West Pointe, said Antonelli.
Power was restored to all those effected by 9 a.m., according to Antonelli.
The crow did not survive.
