As part of the Cochrane Light Up festivities, the Kitchen Boutique will once again be hosting their annual Gingerbread House Contest this Nov. 24.

All entries must be dropped off at MacKay’s Ice Cream on Nov. 23 between 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and judging will take place throughout the day on Nov. 24, as shoppers and those visiting Light Up can stop by MacKay’s and vote for their favourite house.

“Each person can vote only once, votes will be tallied, following Light Up and the top three winners will be notified at 9 p.m. on Nov. 24,” said Kendra Stenzel from the Kitchen Boutique.

“We keep the winning three houses, which will be featured in our display window.”

Stenzel said she has seen some spectacular winners over the last couple of years, including a Dr. Suess-style creation, a ‘breakfast in bed’ and a ‘Ginger-ella’ mansion.

It costs nothing to enter and first place will receive a $500 Kitchen Boutique gift certificate, a $250 one for second place and a $100 one for third.

For a complete list of rules and regulations, visit kitchenboutique.ca/events, stop by 212-1st Street West or phone 403-932-1175.
