Fire crews beat down house blaze in Riverview

Cochrane Fire Services and Rocky View County responded to the structure fire call before noon earlier today

A house that caught fire May 23 along Riverview Drive drew a response from local fire crews.

Firefighters found the home unoccupied when they arrived at the scene just before noon. According to Cochrane Fire Services inspector Jeff Avery, the blaze was localized toward the back of the home.

With the help of Rocky View County Fire Services, Avery said they were able to "knock the fire down" fairly quickly.

"No residents were home at the time and there was no damage to surrounding properties, but there is a fair bit of damage to the house itself," he said.

The cause of the fire is unknown and investigations are expected to begin soon.
