Donation bags are coming with the newspapers arriving on doorsteps around town.
Once received, fill them with non-perishable items and leave the donations on your doorstep before 10 a.m. for collection. You can also head down to Spray Lake Sawmills Sports Centre to drop off donations, but to avoid traffic it is recommended to allow volunteers to do the heavy lifting.
Here is a list of items the food bank has the greatest need for:
• Salmon
• Rice
• Large canned hams
• Canned tomatoes
• Canned pasta
• 1 litre juice
• 100 per cent juice boxes
• Peanut-free granola bars
• Kleenex
• Toothbrushes and toothpaste
• Diapers: sizes 4T, 5T, 5 and 6
The goal of the drive is to fill 1,200 boxes.
