The second Annual Cochrane Food Fest is returning to town from 11 a.m to 6 p.m. on Aug. 13 at Mitford Park.

Presented by Excel Homes & Heartland, the one-day food festival showcases quality local foods in sample size portions as well as a beer gardens, musical entertainment, family activities and more.

“We moved the festival down to Mitford Park, to give it more of a festival vibe,” said Lead Event Coordinator Kailey Mitchell, of Quirk Social.

“We’ve got five local acts that will be on stage throughout the day, new local vendors, and some new restaurants that haven’t opened yet.”

As always with festivals and fairs this year, Mitchell said they are still looking for volunteers as well.

“We are very excited to be back for another year showcasing many new local food vendors, entertainment and activities as well as some past favourites. It’s going to be a great day,” she said.

Local musicians featured on the Brix Real Estate Group Stage will include Brady Enslen and

Justine Vandergrift, Ashley Erica, The Band Peak, Anna Lewis and 2021 YYC Music

Awards Folk Recording Artist of the Year, Reanne Kyla.

The MacKay’s Kids Zone boasts activities for the whole family, including glitter tattoos,

face painting, a bouncy castle, tie dye station, as well as a few big surprises. Also, a “Top Secret”

MacKay’s Ice Cream flavour will be made just for this event.

Attendees can exchange food tickets for samples at the participating vendors on site. To avoid the lines, pre-purchase sampling tickets on the Cochrane Food Fest website and collect them from The Social Spot Marketplace at 218 First Street W prior to the event.

The Food Fest Family pack is an $85 value, selling for $75. It will include $50 in food vouchers, a Cochrane Food Fest picnic blanket, a Mackay's Ice Cream tote bag and a Mackay's Ice Cream Frisbee – everything you need to enjoy a picnic in the park.

There are only 100 of those available.
