A Night in the Opera House is this years theme for the 2019 MasquerAID.
MasquerAID

"You will curse the day you did not do, all that the Phantom asked of you." Halloween is just around the corner and that means the second annual MasquerAID is ready to BOO-gie the night away at the Lions Club Event Centre on Saturday, Oct. 26.

This year's theme is "Haunted Night in the Opera House" and you can believe it is going to be an evening of spook-topera vibes. There will be prizes for best dressed so make sure you pull out that box of Halloween costumes you have stashed away in your dark, cold basement and whip something together.

Back by popular demand after last years event is the LowTide Band. They will keep the monsters mashin' well into the wee hours of the night playing all the songs you want to groove to.

Also in attendance will be three incredibly talented opera singers to sprinkle some elements of opera throughout the evening. Canadian soprano, Alyssa Durnie apperared in the world's first zombie opera, (tenor) Tim Carter an Edmonton born turned Calgarian making his switch from student to artist and special guest mezzo soprano, Barbara King who thrills audiences with her "exquisite vocal command of a three octave range."

This is Cochrane's biggest Halloween event showing that adults can get in on the fright-fun too. There will be a $5 beer and halloween themed menu keeping bellies and brains entertained. All donations and proceeds from the evening will go toward Big Hill Haven.

Doors open at 7 p.m. and tickets will cost you $30. You can get your tickets at the door or online now at https://masqueraid2019.eventbrite.ca and use the promo code: Halloween to knock $5 off your ticket.
