The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted businesses across the province, but our Alberta-based newspaper group has established a community marketing fund to help small business owners get back on their feet again.

“Together we can get back to business,” says Duff Jamison, CEO. “The community marketing fund will allow GWN to match our customer’s advertising commitment dollar for dollar. Advertisers can access a network that includes more than 1.1 million monthly readers, more than 100,000 social media followers,  over 2.5 million monthly page views and printed newspapers going into nearly 200,000 homes across the province.”

The program matches advertising dollars from  $250 to $10,000 per month throughout May, June, July and August. The fund is available for print and/or online newspaper advertising only. While Facebook, Google, and other social media ads are excluded from this offer, business owners may promote their funded ads on their own social networks.

Jamison notes, “The community marketing fund will make matching dollars available to all locally-owned and operated businesses in our communities. New or existing clients, home-based or main street bricks and mortar, all are welcome to apply to the program beginning today.”

Applications are open now at Community Marketing Fund Application Form. The deadline to apply is May 31, 2020. Applicants will receive our response within two to three business days of submission.

“Alberta is famous for banding together during good and bad times,” concludes Jamison. “Our province’s entrepreneurial and community spirit is stronger than ever.”
