Every Monday, Cochrane Today will recognize a member of the community who has soared to new heights as a person who demonstrates the character of the mighty eagle.
This week, we are pleased to bring you Honorary Eagle, Andrew Denton.
Denton is one of the Boys & Girls Club of Cochrane and Area’s most valuable team members.
This past summer he worked with children from kindergarten through Grade 6 and never lost an ounce of enthusiasm. His passion is evident in the impact he has on every child in the club's out-of-school care program.
Denton is always looking for activities, which may interest the kids. He is a self- motivated leader who actively helps children in our program feel confident and safe. Andrew has even been known to keep a box of electronics in his car for kids to disassemble and re-assemble.
He explains that he collects them because he did not know he had a passion for electronics until he was an adult. As a result, he wanted to provide the children in the program with the opportunity to explore this passion in their childhood, as he wished he had.
Denton is an open-minded, adaptable individual; But what really makes him so noteworthy, is his unwavering commitment to providing everyone in the room with a positive experience. Without a doubt, Denton is a vital asset to the Boys & Girls Club of Cochrane and Area and to the community of Cochrane.
