Lost and found: Calgary family discover Cochrane on their way to the mountains

Getting lost never tasted so good.

What could have been a disappointing end to their day, was anything but.

The Bergonio family woke up this morning and planned to visit Johnston Canyon in Banff National Park from their home in southwest Calgary. Things didn't go as planned.

Karen - the matriarch - sheepishly admitted that their GPS let them down. They were lost. Instead of call the whole thing off the family decided to try their luck and make a left turn off the Trans-Canada Highway on their way home. They ventured into beautiful Cochrane and decided to park their car and explore.

Even low-lying clouds and chilly temperatures didn't sway the family from cooling their taste buds with a MacKay's Ice Cream treat. Their five-year-old daughter Noureen, pictured beside her sister Naveen, 3, and her father Frank looking on, enthusiastically devoured her frozen treat.

Happy Thanksgiving Day Cochrane! Spend today with your family and loved ones. Follow the lead of this family and have an adventure together today.
