Motorist dies after single-vehicle crash north of Bragg Creek

Police believe speed was a causing factor in a single motor-vehicle collision Oct. 1, which resulted in the death of the 27-year-old driver. The incident occurred at approximately 4:50 a.m.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:50 a.m. Cochrane RCMP and emergency services were dispatched to the scene on Wintergreen Road, north of Bragg Creek.

A white 2002 Saturn Vue SUV was travelling northbound on Wintergreen Road when the driver of the vehicle lost control and went off the road and struck a tree.

The driver was ejected from the vehicle upon impact and was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.

The name of the deceased is being withheld until next-of-kin can be notified.

The collision is still under investigation, and investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to contact Cochrane RCMP at 403-851-8000.
