MORLEY – Members of the Stoney Nakoda First Nation recognized the 215 children found in a mass grave at the former Kamloops Residential School by tying 215 teddy bears to a fence along the Trans-Canada Highway.
There were also symbols placed near the McDougall Church and a sign on a bridge overlooking the Trans-Canada Highway to help memorialize and recognize the children.
A gathering of more than 30 supporters also performed a smudging ceremony Friday morning in memory of the 215 children.
