The Royal Bank Branch in Cochrane is ready to help the Cochrane Activette's Foodbank this weekend with a serving of free pancakes.

Mohammed Kardar, manager of client services at the branch, said RBC in Cochrane is holding its first, of what the branch hopes to be an annual breakfast, on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Attending the breakfast is free, but Kardar said participants are encouraged to bring a non-perishable or cash donation to help the foodbank.

"Everything we raise will go to the foodbank," said Kadar, adding the branch came up with the idea as a way to give back to the community.

The free breakfast is just one way to help the food bank in the coming weeks. The Cochrane Activettes fall food drive is scheduled from Sept, 14 starting at 10 a.m. with volunteers going door-to-door collecting donations.
