RCMP investigating fatal collision along 1A Highway

The head-on collision between a car and cube van resulted in the highway being closed to traffic for several hours

BOW VALLEY – A fatal collision along the 1A Highway between Morley and Cochrane Friday afternoon (Sept. 18) is under investigation by the Cochrane RCMP. 

The head-on collision shut the highway to vehicle traffic for several hours while an RCMP collision analyst investigated.

According to a press release, RCMP responded to the scene at 3:33 p.m. 26 kilometres west of Cochrane.

The collision involved a car and cube van. The male driver of the car was ejected and died as a result of his injuries. The male driver of the cube van was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
